After the Cold War ended, the tide of neoliberalism quietly rose, and those politically passionate artistic actions were gradually submerged by the currents of history — even memorialized or institutionalized into museums. As Avery Gordon once said, ghosts are not…

Since the second half of the 20th century, international migration has steadily increased due to factors such as war, ethnic conflict, demand for labor, and environmental or human rights persecution. In particular, forcibly displaced people — those who move outside…

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and…

【☞ 食物織事|Food in Palestine】Discuss the role of Palestinian cuisine in identity and collective memory formation for Palestinians 巴勒斯坦飲食如何建構巴勒斯坦人的身份認同與集體記憶【☞ Food in Palestine】 Discuss the role of Palestinian cuisine in identity and collective memory formation for Palestinians

Food constitutes ‘a highly condensed social fact’ and ‘a marvellously plastic kind of collective representation’ (Appadurai, 1981, p. 494). This research project begins to discuss the relationship between food, collective memory and identity for Palestinian diasporas overseas through the concept…
